Arsenal and Bayern Munich Play to a Thrilling 2-2 Draw

High-Scoring Match Leaves Quarterfinal Tie Level

Pulsating Contest at the Emirates Stadium

Arsenal and Bayern Munich played to a pulsating 2-2 draw at the Emirates Stadium on Tuesday night, leaving their UEFA Champions League quarterfinal tie level going into the second leg.

The Gunners took the lead through Alexis Sanchez in the first half, but Bayern Munich equalized through Robert Lewandowski just before the break. Arturo Vidal put the visitors ahead early in the second half, but Olivier Giroud headed home an equalizer for Arsenal in the 69th minute.

Both teams had chances to win the game in the closing stages, but neither side could find a winning goal. The draw leaves the tie finely poised ahead of the second leg in Munich next week.

Arsenal will be the happier of the two teams with the result, as they came from behind twice to earn a draw against one of the favorites for the competition. Bayern Munich will be disappointed not to have won the game, but they will still be confident of progressing to the semifinals.
